At CALIGARCIA, we are always mindful of what we produce and how we produce it.
For too long, the jewelry industry has relied on environmentally harmful mining practices and cheap labor overseas. Fast fashion trends have also led to overproduction and waste. We present an alternative - slow fashion jewelry made with intention. Our handmade, made-to-order process means we only make what is needed, when it is needed. We use recycled precious metals and in the future plan to incorporate ethically-sourced gemstones from small mines with safe working conditions. Our focus is on creating unique pieces meant to be cherished forever, rather than mass-producing items with a short lifespan.
We understand the importance of being transparent about our choices in materials, processes, and packaging. Here, we outline some of our processes to demonstrate our commitment to minimizing our environmental impact.
Materials
Silver
At present, we use 80% recycled silver. Our goal is to increase this to 90% by the end of the year and to achieve 100% recycled silver by next year.
Our silver supplier is certified by the RJC CoC (Responsible Jewellery Council Chain of Custody), the world’s foremost standard-setting organization for the jewelry and watch industry. They ensure that responsible standards are maintained throughout the global jewelry and watch supply chain.

Glass
Our glass beads have been produced in Bohemia since the 18th century, with the our beads being one of the most renowned in the Czech Republic and a leader in glass bead and component manufacturing. They are among the most popular and widely used beads globally.
Threads
Regarding packaging, we are actively seeking the most environmentally friendly options that also uphold the quality and aesthetic standards of our brand. While our current jewelry box meets our quality and aesthetic goals, it is not yet in line with our sustainability objectives - and we are currently exploring better alternatives.
